This year, RVM celebrates “Take Your Children to Work Day”.
Take Our Daughters to Work Day was created in New York in the summer of 1992 by the Ms. Foundation for Women. The first celebration happened on April 22, 1993, and has been celebrated since on the 4th Thursday of April every year. The purpose of this event was to involve young girls in the work world.
Boys were officially included as of 2003, and the initiative was renamed “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work”. By the time the initiative was renamed, most companies that participated in the program had already allowed boys and girls to come to work, and learn from parental figures as professionals. Employees across the country and around the world invite their own children or relatives to join them at work.
RVM’s celebration was deemed a great success. Attendees enjoyed the activities and our little professionals confirmed the pizza was amazing.
